Michael Moran

L.Ac. Doctor of Acupuncture

Michael is a licensed acupuncturist and completed eight years of training at the Pacific College of Health and Science in acupuncture, massage therapy, herbal medicine, and other integrative modalities including nutrition and cupping. Michael is passionate about creating a safe and collaborative space in which you can work together to base care on individual need.

Areas of Expertise

pain management, muscle tension, structural imbalance, immune and autoimmune support, Long Covid support, fertility and reproductive support, sleep support, stress management, addiction recovery support, digestive support, and much more...

All modalities are included in treatment as needed.

Acupuncture: The site specific insertion of a sterile filiform needle can elicit a cascade of complex local and axial chemical, mechanical, thermal, and electrical responses. Motor-point needling, for example, resets the tone of the local muscle tissue by short-circuiting known highly electrically excitable points - the muscle fibers then twitch involuntarily and lengthen.

Electrical Acupuncture: Electrical acupuncture can loosen surrounding tissue and upregulate endogenous steroids like beta-endorphins and enkephalins to treat pain and inflammation long after the treatment is over.

Ear Detox Acupuncture: The NADA protocols are the most widely used acupuncture techniques for pain, trauma, addiction and stress.

Gua Sha: The use of a hard, polished edge of an object to create friction at the skin's surface on tissue sites that are inflamed. The gentle brushing coaxes inflammatory debris to the surface so that the body can clean it up. This therapy increases surface-level micro-perfusion 300%(more than a third degree burn, promoting rapid tissue repair) and can also be used to stimulate the immune system in the early stages of a head cold.

Cupping: What cupping does best is decongest previously injured and/or poorly circulated tissue by forcibly pulling up on metabolic waste and debris like dead blood. Strength, flexibility, and range of motion immediately improve. The added benefit is that the body then up-regulates enzymes that break down oxidative waste throughout the body. The effects can improve endurance, reverse cardiovascular disease and improve pulmonary and metabolic function throughout the body.

Moxibustion: Moxibustion is a dry heat therapy that involves burning loose or condensed mugwort on or near certain tissue sites. Moxbustion has many applications for augmenting acupuncture point functions, reducing joint and muscle pain, and increasing red and white blood cell count.

Herbal Medicine: Chinese herbal medicine is the relatively gentle, alchemical use of mostly plants, minerals, and resins to improve the workings of complex systems in the body and reduce/reverse disease processes. Michael works with TianJiang Pharmaceutical Co. and their distributor Treasure of the East to source the highest quality, purity, and authenticity ingredients available.
