Plant Shadows

This formula is indicated for lingering low-grade fever, a sensation of heat rising in the late afternoon or evening, and persistent thirst with a dry mouth or throat. Patients may experience irritability, restlessness, or insomnia due to residual heat damaging fluids, along with fatigue, weakness, or a soft voice from Qi and Yin depletion. It is well-suited for cases where a previous febrile or inflammatory illness has left a combination of internal heat and fluid deficiency, often accompanied by palpitations, shortness of breath, dry mouth and throat, dry lips, nausea and vomiting, and/or a dry cough. Other signs may include spontaneous sweating, poor appetite, or lingering low-grade inflammation that flares with exertion or stress. This modified Zhu Ye Shi Gao Tang gently clears residual heat while nourishing Qi and Yin, helping restore fluid balance, calm the spirit, and support recovery from post-heat exhaustion patterns.
