Xiao Chai Hu Tang modified (LPI) is formulated for lingering pathogenic illness marked by alternating sensations of heat and cold, low-grade or relapsing fevers, a persistent sense of malaise, and a feeling of being “stuck” in recovery. Symptoms often include fatigue that worsens with exertion, poor appetite, nausea or bloating, a bitter or dry taste in the mouth, throat discomfort, and a sensation of fullness in the chest or ribcage. Patients may also experience brain fog, mood fluctuations, irritability, dizziness, heartburn, nausea or vomiting, downcast with no desire to eat, or a wiry pulse, reflecting dysregulation of the Shaoyang pivot. This modified version addresses the chronic, smoldering pathogen with gentle harmonization, supporting immune recovery while reducing inflammation and improving digestion, energy, and mental clarity.
